Billboard Campaign Launched

Thank you to Ben Weaver from Weaver Media and Paul Prosser from Lamar Outdoor Advertising. Together they donated multiple billboards around town that will run throughout the 2008 calendar year. This is an extremely generous in kind donation that is valued at close to $150,000. Ben and his creative team designed the billboard. So keep your eyes open when traveling around town. Our sincere thanks to Ben & Paul.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Caring For Children Angel Awards
On Friday November 9, 2007, Michael Hockney, our co-founder was recognized for his work with our foundation by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

The Caring for Children Angel Awards is given to a total of five outstanding individuals who do exceptional work to improve the well-being of Michigan children.

A diverse panel of community leaders from across the state selected all of this year’s nominations and chose four adult finalists and one adolescent. From among the four adult finalists, one was honored as the “Grand Angel”, received a trophy and a $5,000 donation for his or her affiliated nonprofit organization. The other four adult finalists and “The Littlest Angel” received a trophy and a $1,000 donation for their respective charities.

The event was hosted by WDIV Local 4 news anchor Rhonda Walker. This event was a great opportunity for our foundation to be recognized by many distinguished guests and although Michael was not selected as the Grand Angel, we certainly felt like winners. Thank you to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan for hosting such a wonderful event.

A Generous Donation by Auburn Pharmaceutical

Jeffrey Farber, the President of Auburn Pharmaceutical contacted us shortly after our A Night of Hope event in April of 2007 after seeing a story about our foundation on Fox 2 news. We met with Jeff to answer his questions about our organization and our future goals. Jeff and his company have always been very active in giving back to the community by supporting many worthwhile causes. Jeff has been looking for a true grass roots organization like ours to get involved with for some time. Recently Jeff and his company donated $5,000.00 to our efforts. Jeff’s contribution will go directly to the foundation to continue supporting Michigan children and families dealing with cancer. This generous donation demonstrates Auburn Pharmaceutical’s commitment to their employees, customers and other members of the community that they are backing the effort to improve the lives of children with cancer in our community. We are honored to have Auburn Pharmaceutical as one of our supporters. Thanks Jeff!
